Photos from our pilgrimage to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth

Well, if you find it strange that people would revere a dental relic, just think how many pieces of the 'Cross' there are floating around as well as purported pieces of Jesus' shroud.

The crowds defy the rainy day for their chance to pay their respects to this relic.

We are not there yet but our guide is getting us through the throng

Up there where the shutters are is the place where the offerings are made through a small door. They are received by a priest and behind hin is the place where the tooth is kept. Once a year, this is opened so that the tooth, itself, is visible.
